Our colleague E and her husband Zheng Yiu are so kind. Her
mother-in law-taught her about a Chinese remedy for colds, especially the kind
that people tend to get in late October. When I started coughing, she went to a
traditional medicine store and bought packages of herbs. It is the
kind of store where the herbs are stored in small wooden drawers. After two days of drinking this, and also hot water, I am feeling much, much better.

We often eat bowls of soup with noodles and interesting looking pieces of vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, meat and seaweed. So this photo looks tasty to me. Here is a fairly standard conversation in the dining hall.
"What are you eating?"
"I have no idea!"
It did work and Liz is back to full energy. David is now marking 200 final packages for the career prep course, and consuming the magical herbal tea. Hopefully it will shorten the cold so he is ready to start the next term with energy on Monday We will have the names of the herbs in Chinese, Pinyin and English for anyone interested.
